Ah, how far she's come in the eight weeks since: With the end of her daytime talk show, she's clearly got some additional time on her hands, and she's putting it to good use: She's partnering with Demand Media, a top online-content company, to develop a new digital venture focusing on beauty and fashion.
Details so far are sketchy; the most Demand is saying about it so far is that "Demand Media and Tyra Banks plan to launch a multi-platform digital presence embodying her unique philosophy of Beauty Inside & Out, closely supporting her core mission to expand the definition of beauty. The efforts will include the development of an interactive web property, an engaging online video series and unique mobile applications."
Demand does make the compelling point that despite the enormous market for beauty and fashion products, the consumer base is so diffuse that no online brand dedicated to it has emerged as a true leader — a void Demand and Tyra are clearly aiming to fill. Stay tuned for further details. Tyra is a bit of an eccentric, but she's had a Midas touch when it comes to managing her post-modeling business ventures.
